Bulk Fitting Solar Roofs in Bridport.

Part of DCAN Low Carbon Neighbourhood Project to promote renewable energy, we ran a Solar Roofs event in Bridport to inform and encourage homeowners to install solar PV panels and batteries. This is the second year we have run this bulk buying scheme, and last time 44 homes got panels, some with batteries, at a discounted price.

Three local installers, Ian Crabbe from EvergreenSW, Robin Goodfellow from Goodfellow Electrical Solutions, and Carl Lewis from Evolution Electrical each made a pitch explaining why this is a good time to invest in our homes. The panels have become cheaper and more efficient, and the batteries are becoming more affordable. As well as increasing the value of the home, and saving money on free electricity, PV panels are helping householders get off fossil fuels which cause climate change, and are reducing our dependence on imported fuels from Russia, America and the Middle East.

Both Carl and Robin brought some materials to explain what an invertor does, what is optimisation, and how does a more expensive system differ from the basic one.

If you missed the meeting but would like a free quote at this discounted system, write to BridportSolarPanels@gmail.com.

These are not the cheapest panels but we have chosen reliable installers we trust who will install good quality equipment which will last. There are of course other installers we can recommend, like the ones chosen by our Dorset Greener Homes hosts.
